I watched her she raised her hand and, once called on, promptly answered the question with a smile. She looked so confident and self-assured; it brought a small smile to my own face, wishing I could feel the same confidence. She sat a few desks away from my own, and often I thought of talking to her as I would love to be friends with such a kind person. But I never had, for reasons unknown to me.
The bell rang, and she rose swiftly gathering her things. As she walked down the aisle, she bumped into my desk, sending my notebook and papers to the floor. She turned, she apologized quickly, bending down and returning my papers and note
The sky is a wide, blue expanse as I step outside, absent of any of the usual white clouds. The air cloaks me and I take a deep breath and close my eyes, feeling the cool, moist air against my face. I open my eyes after a moment, and gaze around me searching for something, though I did not know what it was yet. The ground is carpeted in dull gray concrete, I notice first as I scan the area, and where the pavement ends the rocky black road begins.
